ECS appoint CBVC Vehicle Management
Expanding Mansfield based ECS Engineering Services have outsourced their fleet of cars and commercials to CBVC Vehicle Management on a 4 year agreement.
ECS, Managing Director, Gary Jordan said “We have an excellent qualified Fleet Manager in house, but wanted to use his talents elsewhere in the business. CBVC were introduced to us by a new senior employee whose previous employer company used their services for some years...
Our criteria in looking for an outsourced partner was a company who could deliver cost savings, but also maintain our strong Duty of Care and H&S disciplines, emphasised by our ROSPA Gold Award for Occupational Health & Safety. This is important for our own staff safety, and also provides a fully auditable H&S trail on vehicles demanded by our clients who include major utilities and the Environment Agency.
We found that CBVC has specialist teams in vehicle supply; vehicle finance; short term and flexible rental and full vehicle and driver operational management. Their service delivery is backed up by a 24 hour helpline and state of art online IT management system giving us access to live data on vehicles, fuel and employees 24/7, so no more spreadsheets. The system alone would have cost us in excess of CBVC’s annual fees yet alone a qualified management team behind it.
It therefore became an easy decision to appoint them as they, manage the fleet for half the cost, strengthen our back office support with their specialist teams, and save us recruiting a new employee”.
“Our business model is ideally suited to a business like ECS. They have a valuable employee whose talents can be used elsewhere in the business and can outsource their fleet management for a fraction of the price of a qualified replacement”, commented CBVC Director Mike Manners. “We look forward to working for ECS, and delivering further cost savings over the coming years”.

Real Cost Savings Through Fleet Management
CFS has chosen CBVC Vehicle Management as their fleet management provider
CBVC Vehicle Management announces they are now the fleet management company appointed by CFS, Contract Fire and Security, the fastest growing independent fire and security company in the UK.
The contract for fleet management was awarded to Burton based CBVC as a total outsourced solution, for the complete management of the CFS fleet which includes, vans, cars, grey fleet and rental vehicles...
CFS has over 80 engineers located across the UK and a network of 12 engineering distribution centres nationwide to support their engineering team.
Their total fleet of vehicles used to be managed in house but as Steven Quirke, Joint Managing Director at CFS said, “The advantages of outsourcing our vehicle fleet is that, in this time of increasing motoring costs, a professional fleet management company will enable us to better control costs in leasing, fuel, insurance, hire and accidents. It also provides our drivers with a dedicated team to ensure they are kept on the road at all times, in the appropriate vehicle.”
He continued; “When we looked at Fleet Management companies we found that no standard solution seemed to exist. There were Leasing Companies and IT providers who would give part of the solution, but, on analysis essentially all they were going to do was provide us with a pile of reports and leave us to implement the recommendations. We felt it was only CBVC who could identify the issues across both the personnel and asset aspects of running our fleet, agree a strategy with the Directors, and then implement the action and report back on results.”
“The difference with CBVC was not only do they provide a superb web based fleet management IT solution, but this is backed up by a professional fleet manager with over 20 years’ experience. All supported by specialist back office staff covering key arrears such as supply, finance, maintenance, fuel and daily rental”.
Mike Manners, CBVC Director said, “As a rapidly expanding business, a fleet of 200 vehicles, and an annual fleet operating cost of £1.7m, CFS would have needed to invest in a qualified Fleet Manager, with IT and Admin backup at an annual cost of approx £75k to properly control their situation. With our outsourced solution, proven systems and professional staff, we estimate and are well on the way to delivering, savings of at least 10% of budget at a fraction of the cost whilst helping with their Duty of Care and risk management liabilities”.
